        <description>You don’t need any formal qualifications but GCSEs would be useful especially in English, Maths, Science or Food Technology.

There are no age restrictions but you would normally need to be at least 18 to work in a Plant Bakery because of shift work. If you want to be a supervisor or manager the BTEC National Diploma in Science (Baking Technology) is a two year full-time course that can be taken before entering the Career Progression:</description>
